Melvin F. Kushner, D.D.S
Dr. Melvin Kushner is a 1966 graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School. Upon graduation, Dr. Kushner completed his internship at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and also served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. In 1969 he joined a group practice in Maryland and later became one of the founders of Valley Dental Associates. It is very important for Dr. Kushner to stay involved in the dental community. In doing so, he has previously served as president of the Baltimore and Maryland Academies of General Dentistry. Also he has been president and secretary-treasurer of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. Currently, he is an examiner for the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners.
Dr. Kushner lives with his wife Sharan and they have two daughters, and two grandchildren. In addition, he enjoys gourmet cooking, is a Coast Guard licensed Captain, and enjoys spending time on his boat.
Michael J. Weitzman, D.D.S.
Dr. Weitzman is a 1977 graduate of the University of Maryland and the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. After graduation, he completed his internship at Emily Bissel Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. He then returned to Maryland with Valley Dental Associates in 1988.
Dr. Weitzman lives in Owings Mills and has two adult sons, Jordan and Justin. In his spare time, Dr. Weitzman enjoys working out at the gym and traveling with his family. Dr. Weitzman is also an avid sports fan and regularly attends Ravens and Maryland basketball and football games.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association and Baltimore County Dental Association. He is also a member of various academies of specialization, including The Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the Academy of Computerized Dentistry (formerly known as The Academy of CAD/CAM Dentistry).
Louis M. Gorman, D.D.S.
Dr. Louis Gorman attended Vanderbilt University where he majored in Biology, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1990, he graduated from the Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Gorman spent the following year completing his general practice and hospital dentistry residency at the University of Maryland Hospital, and has been with Valley Dental Associates since 1991.
Dr. Gorman is a member of the Dean’s faculty at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, College of Dental Surgery. He has also been an attending dentist at the Lawrence Kernan Hospital and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Gorman is currently a team dentist for the Baltimore Ravens NFL franchise.
Dr. Gorman lives in Reisterstown with his wife Missy and their two sons, Albert and Daniel. Dr. Gorman is a big sports fan and enjoys playing softball and soccer.
Sarah K. Park, D.D.S., M.S. - Periodontist
Dr. Park graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1982. She serviced in the Public Health Service in Trenton, New Jersey until 1985. After four years of private practice in General Dentistry, her interest in Periodontology summoned her to postgraduate training at the University of Maryland Dental School from 1986 – 1988. She attained her Masters Degree in Oral Biology in 1990 and achieved her Diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology in 1994. Dr. Park is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Dental School. She has been providing specialty care for surrounding communities at Valley Dental Associates and at her practice in Riverdale Park, Maryland since 1988.
