Soreness
Gum tissues may be sore for several days.  Warm salt-water rinses will relieve discomfort and aide in keeping the area clean.

Pain Medication

In some cases, pain medication may be prescribed.  If over-the-counter pain relievers fail to relieve your discomfort, call our office.

Continue your normal routine of brushing and flossing.  However, since the treatment site may be very tender, be gentle in that area.

Bleeding

You may experience some sensitivity after treatment, this should subside gradually.  Often, the doctor may have used fluoride during the procedure, or prescribed it afterwards to help alleviate some of the sensitivity.

After treatment, you may experience some bleeding when brushing or flossing.  This is normal and the bleeding should stop on its own.  If bleeding continues, please call our office.
